It’s a new year and we have welcomed some new friends to join our nursery class. Existing children are enjoying the responsibility of showing their friends around our play area. We are remembering routines of nursery and trying hard to tidy up after we have finished playing. This helps to keep us safe and not fall over toys. This term we are going to begin by learning about Winter. We noticed it was snowing and we were interested to find out more. We are enjoying playing in our igloo and learning more about animals that live in cold places. We enjoyed showing our new friends “Woody Wednesday” and playing in the woods again.
Children are busy learning about celebrations this term. They have developed their knowledge of Diwali, Fireworks night and are beginning to learn more about Scotland and Christmas. The children are continuing to enjoy Woody Wednesday and are beginning preparations for our Woodland Market on the 14th December- we hope you can make it! We have enjoyed working with Anna Hamilton (music) and we have been working hard to learn our songs for our show “All around the Christmas Tree.” We hope you will join us on Monday 12th at 2pm for our performance! The children are also very excited to go to pick the Nursery Christmas tree on the 7th of December! Please have a look at our floorbooks in Nursery and Film Friday for weekly updates about our learning.
The children have shown an interest in dogs in Nursery. We have created a dog shop in nursery selling all the things we thought a dog would need. We measured leads and decorated collars for the shop. We did some free collage with dog biscuits and some printing with shapes on bones. We have all settled into Nursery and we are looking forward to showing our parents round the nursery on Thursday for our Soft finish session.
Have a look at some of the fun things we have been doing! As the children have shown an interest in dogs, we are going to use this as a context for learning. Stay tuned to find out what we get up to! If you have any ideas please let us know!
We are still enjoying the lovely weather. We have been exploring our Nursery and the playground! We enjoy learning outdoors!
We have been enjoying playing outside in the afternoons. We can’t wait for more children to come join us over the next few days!
