A very successful Commonwealth themed sports day was held last Friday.
The children enjoyed competing for countries they had been learning about during cross stage learning opportunities in class.
The children took part in a parade into the field with their country’s flags. Next the children took part in a dance warm up to Pharrell Williams’ song “Happy”.
Thanks to Miss MacNay for choreographing the dance. The potted sports activities were all Commonwealth Games themed. Some of the P4-7’s took part in a longer running race around the playground. Thanks to Mrs Ramage for organising these activities.
Finally, the children closed their Kingswells Commonwealth Games by singing the Commonwealth song “Sing.”
The competitors and their families then enjoyed a picnic on the field. Many thanks to everyone who helped make the event a huge success.
