Safety In The Snow And Bad Weather

Since it will soon be snowy weather, we are just going to remind you how to be safe.

Make sure you are wearing  cozy and suitable clothing, so you don’t get cold.

If you are driving make sure you can see through all the windows and go slow on wet or icy roads. If you are walking make sure you be careful and watch out for icy patches also don’t run on the ice.  Make sure not to throw snow balls at people because little things like stones, glass and grit could get into people’s eyes.

If you are going sledging with an adult or a couple of friends make sure you are sledging on a safe and fun place. If you are stuck in traffic in the snow or can’t get to school because of snow just get in contact with these numbers or email:

Our New Outdoor Classroom

Before the October holidays, parent helpers helped refurbish an old scrappy outdoor classroom into a brand new, shiny outdoor classroom.

We showed pictures of how it looked when it was just started.

Courtyard Makeover

All the old rubble and plants had to be cleared away.

The new classroom was officially opened as part of Mrs Glover’s retirement celebrations and we would like to thank APACHE for financially sponsoring the project so we could have a lovely area outside.

They got rid of the old flower beds and planted new flowers in pots.  We also got new benches and painted them a light pink colour, which makes the our door classroom nice and bright.

To decorate the classroom every child in the school had to draw and decorate a tile with a nature theme.  We made them by drawing a rough copy and then using special pens.  The PTA put them into a ceramic oven so that the drawings wouldn’t come off the tiles in bad weather outside.   We all wrote our names on the tiles we made.

Outdoor Classroom 5

For a present for Mrs Glover  leaving the P.T.A made a tile for Mrs Glover that had her name and a picture of our owl mascot on it.

We’re all looking forward to using it.

Manga High

Manga high is a maths game in which you earn medals and awards to earn points to move up the leaderboard.

We were FIRST overall for the month May. But now we are 40th for June.  The fact you can get gold medals encourages people.  Manga High is really cool because you can get medals and I think we are doing really well.

“A fun educational game for kids.”

“Manga High is a really good game and I hope that Kingswells School continue to win medals and eventually win the best Maths School Award in Britain when the P7’s are gone.”

“This is one of my favourite games about angles and polygons. It is called a Tangled Web.”

Our teachers have set us some challenges and we’ve had fun playing while learning about maths.
